Coming Soon: The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Park Art Festival Teases Its Return to Dadar
A single word, lavkarach, Marathi for "coming soon", is all the organisers needed. The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Park Art Festival has signalled its return to Dadar, in a post shared with Dadar Mumbaikar.
Dates have not yet been announced. Previous editions have taken place early in the year, in January or February, and Mumbaikars will be watching the festival's page closely for details.
What the festival is
Held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Park, one of Mumbai's most storied public spaces, the festival celebrates art, history and Marathi culture on an open, public scale. It was conceived by Shri Aaditya Thackeray, former Cabinet Minister for Tourism and Environment, and has been executed by the Vedh Foundation.
A brief history
The first edition took place in February 2022 and drew roughly 4.5 lakh visitors over three days.
The 2024 edition, the third, ran from 11 to 14 January under the theme "Maaher of Marathi Culture", with entry open to all.
The 2025 edition ran from 9 to 12 January.
