The permission drama, explained

Delhi Police initially withheld permission for the show, citing threat-related inputs, festive-season security needs and other law and order commitments. For a few days, fans genuinely thought it was off.

Then came the meetings. Organisers submitted detailed security plans, and on 23 October, BookMyShow Live confirmed permission had been granted, with the organisers agreeing to extra safety, traffic and crowd-management requirements.

What the security looks like

  • About 2,000 private security guards are expected at the stadium, up from the 400 organisers first proposed.

  • Guards will manage queues, direct people to the right gates and run help kiosks.

  • Authorities considered restricting vehicles within roughly 500 to 700 metres of the stadium, with only authorised vehicles allowed in.

  • Organisers were asked to arrange extra parking and work with cab apps on pick-ups and drop-offs.

Translation for fans: leave early, expect walking and don't plan on a cab dropping you at the gate.

The full AURA India Tour

  • Delhi: 30 October

  • Indore: 15 November

  • Ahmedabad: 21 November

  • Mumbai: 27 November

  • Bengaluru: 29 November

  • Chandigarh: from 1 December

  • Lucknow: 5 December

Before Delhi, Diljit even made a quiet visit to the Taj Mahal. Classic Diljit: global superstar, still a tourist at heart.

Tips if you're going tonight

  • Reach early. With traffic restrictions, the walk could take longer than you think.

  • Charge your phone and carry a power bank. Six hours is a long show.

  • Pick a meeting point with your group before you go in.

  • Check BookMyShow for any last-minute updates on gates and entry rules.

My take

Diljit concerts have become more than gigs. They're national events. The Dil-Luminati tour turned stadium shows into a Punjabi pop takeover, and AURA picks up where that left off. If tonight goes smoothly, Delhi gets its party, and every other city on the list gets a little more excited.
