Incredible India Takes Stand N10-220 at WTM London 2026: What a Travel Trade Fair Actually Does
A trade fair is an odd kind of theatre. Nobody buys a ticket to see the show; the audience is the cast. Tour operators, airlines, hotel groups and tourism boards walk the aisles of a vast hall, and the deals made over three days shape where millions of people go on holiday the following year.
World Travel Market London is one of the largest of these gatherings, and India is there again. The Ministry of Tourism has announced its Incredible India stand for 3 to 5 November 2026.
The details
Event: WTM London 2026
Dates: 3 to 5 November 2026
Venue: ExCeL London, Royal Victoria Dock, London E16 1XL
India's stand: N10-220
The poster is a dense collage: a Kathakali face, seated Buddhas, a tiger mid-roar, a stringed instrument and folk masks, all crowded around a single invitation to "Meet Incredible India". It is an apt image for a country trying to sell twenty kinds of journey at once.
What happens at the stand
The useful way to think about a national stand is as a meeting room with a shopfront. Its job is to connect buyers, chiefly British and European tour operators, with sellers: Indian states, hotel groups and inbound operators who build itineraries on the ground.
Last year's participation gives a sense of scale. At WTM London 2025, the Ministry led a delegation of almost 30 stakeholders, including state governments, union territory administrations, inbound tour operators and IRCTC. Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Delhi and Chandigarh co-exhibited in the India Pavilion, while states such as Goa, Kerala, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu also took part. The Ministry's own account emphasised cultural heritage, landscapes, spiritual and wellness travel, and rural homestays.
Why London, every year
The arithmetic is straightforward. According to the Ministry, India recorded 20.57 million international tourist arrivals in 2024, and the United Kingdom remained among its leading source markets, alongside the United States and Australia. A large diaspora, long historical ties and direct flights make Britain a market that rewards steady attention.
There is a cultural dimension, too. Tourism promotion is one of the few places where a government describes the country to outsiders in its own words. What it chooses to foreground, whether temples, tigers, festivals or homestays, is a quiet statement of national self-image.
For travellers in India, the effects of a week like this tend to surface months later, in new packages, routes and festival tie-ups. The festival circuit is already filling up: see our guides to IFFI 2026 in Goa and the HOME Festival in Vagator.
