Deveshi Sahgal Is About to Serenade Your Soul at ARTISTRY—and You’re Gonna Feel Things

What do Coke Studio, heartbreak, sculpture, and Urdu poetry have in common?

Deveshi Sahgal.Yup. She’s that layered.

This Delhi-based singer-songwriter is not just about high notes—she hits you in the soul. With a voice that sounds like velvet dipped in nostalgia and a vibe straight out of a Sufi dream, Deveshi Sahgal is the kind of artist who doesn’t just sing—she casts spells.

And now, she’s bringing all that mystic energy to ARTISTRY by DIY Solutions on July 18, 2025, at Mumbai’s very own Royal Opera House.

From “Dariyaa” to deeper depths

Flashback to 2018: Amit Trivedi and Anurag Kashyap stumble across this ethereal voice on Instagram and call her up to sing the unplugged version of “Dariyaa” for Manmarziyaan. Just like that, a whole nation paused their playlists and went: who is THAT?!

Turns out, THAT is Deveshi Sahgal—trained in Hindustani classical since the age of 4, mentored by Gurinder Kaur (a disciple of Kishori Amonkar), and deeply soaked in the world of Urdu, Sufi, and sukoon.

Oh, and when she’s not singing? She’s sculpting. Like, literally. From Delhi College of Art to London art studios to Coke Studio—this woman is a walking, humming, soul-healing art gallery.

Time Keeper, Coke Studio, and everything in between

Her track “Time Keeper” is goth, gritty, and glorious. Produced by Gaurav Raina of Midival Punditz and Karajimo, it’s a dark swirl of ambient beats and emotional weight. Total main-character energy.

Then came Fields of Hope—Deveshi’s softer, more luminous side. Hopeful, cinematic, and utterly rewatchable on loop. No skips.

Most recently, she teamed up with Kanwar Grewal and Amira Gill on Coke Studio Bharat for “Das Main Ki Pyaar Vichon Khatteya”—a song that practically bleeds emotion. It’s heartbreak set to tabla. Goosebumps guaranteed.

And now... she’s floating into ARTISTRY

Enter: ARTISTRY by DIY Solutions—an evening of curated chaos, featuring comedy, music, and mind-bending performances. And right at the center of it? Deveshi Sahgal.

She’s delivering a 30-minute set that’ll take you from spiritual to spellbound real quick. No gimmicks. Just her voice, some poetry, and probably that one note that’ll haunt you for days. Pair that with performances by Anshu Mor, Naman Anand, and Harpreet, and you've got a lineup that slaps harder than heartbreak itself.
