New Trailer for 'Verity': Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson Lead a Dark Psychological Thriller

Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson are teaming up to bring Colleen Hoover’s smash-hit novel, Verity, to the big screen. The newly released trailer builds upon an earlier teaser, offering audiences a deeper look into a shadowy, unsettling world brimming with suspense, hidden secrets, and psychological mind games.

The thriller centers on a struggling writer named Lowen Ashleigh (Dakota Johnson), who relocates to a secluded estate to ghostwrite for the highly successful author Verity Crawford (Anne Hathaway). Things take a dark turn when Lowen stumbles upon what appears to be Verity’s disturbing, unreleased autobiography. Filled with twisted confessions regarding Verity's husband, Jeremy (Josh Hartnett), the chilling notes plunge Lowen into a dangerous mental struggle. Soon, she finds herself unable to distinguish between reality and fiction, falling victim to a perilous mix of attraction, manipulation, and obsession.

Promising an atmosphere of eerie suspense and blurred truths, the Michael Showalter-directed film is poised to be a standout thriller this October.

Produced by Amazon MGM Studios and distributed internationally by Sony Pictures Releasing, Verity is set to make its exclusive theatrical debut in India on October 2, 2026.
