Jolly LLB 3 Review: Akshay Kumar & Arshad Warsi’s Courtroom Face-Off Entertains, But Is It the Weakest of the Series?

The Jolly LLB franchise is back, and this time it’s bigger—bringing together both the Meerut Jolly (Arshad Warsi) and the Kanpur Jolly (Akshay Kumar). Released on 19th September 2025, Jolly LLB 3 tries to balance comedy, drama, and social commentary. But does it deliver the same punch as its predecessors? Let’s find out.

Storyline: Farmers vs. Big Business

The film is set in Bikaner, Rajasthan, where businessman Haribhai Khetan (Gajraj Rao) launches his “Bikaner to Boston” dream project. The catch? He grabs farmers’ land illegally, pushing one farmer to suicide. His widow, played by Seema Biswas, decides to fight for justice.

Enter the two Jollys—Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi who end up on opposite sides of the case. The story is inspired by real-life land acquisition protests in UP, and while the subject is heavy, the film keeps it engaging with humor and courtroom drama.

Performances: Who Stands Out?

  • Akshay Kumar: Brings full energy, delivering fiery one-liners and theatrical presence.

  • Arshad Warsi: Underplays beautifully, proving subtle acting can be just as powerful.

  • Saurabh Shukla (Judge Tripathi): The real star! His wit, irritation, and comic timing light up every courtroom scene.

  • Seema Biswas: Brings raw emotion as the widow seeking justice.

  • Gajraj Rao: A smooth, understated villain.

Huma Qureshi and Amrita Rao, unfortunately, don’t get much to do.

Direction & Courtroom Drama

Director Subhash Kapoor sticks to his tried-and-tested formula: sharp dialogue, witty objections, and a judge who keeps stealing the show. The Ajmer and Mumbai locations add authenticity, and the rustic Rajasthani backdrop grounds the story.

The courtroom scenes remain the highlight, though some critics say they lack the sharp sting of the original.

Strengths

✅ Akshay–Arshad chemistry keeps it fun ✅ Judge Tripathi’s comedy gold ✅ Strong social message about farmers’ rights ✅ Dialogues that make you laugh and think

Weaknesses

❌ Weakest film of the trilogy ❌ Satire less sharp than before ❌ Some dragged moments ❌ Female characters underwritten

Jolly LLB 3 is like a typical desi courtroom hearing—chaotic, funny, frustrating, yet never boring. It may be the weakest of the trilogy, but it still entertains with strong performances and a relevant message.
