Bandra Unites for Health: Bhamla Foundation’s Free Mega Medical Camp Draws Over 2,271 Visitors!

Updated: Oct 8

Your Health, Our Priority! That was the message loud and clear as the Bhamla Foundation, under the leadership of Mr. Asif Bhamla and Saher Bhamla, organized Bandra’s biggest free medical camp on 5th October at St. Peter’s Church Ground, Hill Road, Bandra (West). On that breezy Bandra Sunday morning, St. Peter’s Church Ground looked less like a medical camp and more like a community mela of kindness. Families walked in together, senior citizens shared laughter over cups of chai, and volunteers moved around with genuine smiles. You could feel the spirit of “seva” in the air — that beautiful Indian belief that helping others heals you too.

Over 2,271 people from the local community attended the camp for complete body check-ups, free consultations, and medicines, making it one of the most impactful wellness drives in the suburb’s history.

This initiative marks the beginning of a much larger journey — a mission to make quality healthcare accessible across Maharashtra, starting right from the heart of Bandra.

Bollywood and Bandra’s Icons Come Together for a Cause

The free medical camp wasn’t just about health—it was about community spirit. The event saw an inspiring turnout of celebrities and local leaders who came forward to support wellness for all. And as the morning sun climbed higher, Bandra’s beating heart — its people, artists, and changemakers — came together in one rhythm of compassion.

Among the attendees were:

  • Singer Shaan, whose charm and compassion resonated with the crowd.

  • Dance maestro Terence Lewis, advocating for fitness and mindful living.

  • Actress Tanisha Mukerji, who praised the foundation’s ongoing commitment to social causes.

  • Bigg Boss fame Mandana Karimi, who interacted warmly with attendees.

  • Dr. Cheryl Misquitta, President of Bandra Gymkhanna, who shared her support for community-led health initiatives.

Their presence infused glamour and energy into what was fundamentally a people-focused movement, combining Bollywood goodwill with grassroots initiatives. It wasn't about the flashing cameras or red carpets on that day—it was about genuine smiles, authentic stories, and real change. In typical Bandra fashion, the stars mingled effortlessly with the locals, demonstrating that kindness outshines any spotlight. What began as a single Sunday of service is gradually evolving into a statewide movement, reminding us that good health starts at home, in our own communities and neighborhoods. Additionally, the people of the Catholic community in the neighborhood were pleased.

The Bhamla Foundation Vision

Under the leadership of Asif Bhamla and Saher Bhamla, the Bhamla Foundation has been recognized for its dedication to social welfare initiatives, ranging from promoting environmental awareness to improving healthcare access. The health camp in Bandra furthers their mission of “making wellness a habit”, highlighting that good health should be a fundamental right rather than a privilege. Numerous top doctors attended the event, and many wheelchairs were distributed.
