Banita Sandhu Joins Akshay Kumar in Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s Sci-Fi Thriller 'Samuk'
The casting buzz around Akshay Kumar’s highly anticipated sci-fi action-survival film Samuk continues to grow, with Banita Sandhu reportedly becoming the latest addition to the ensemble. Sources indicate she will play a pivotal role in the Kanishk Varma directorial, stepping into the shoes of a British-born Indian environmentalist who is thrust into an unexpected and dangerous mission.

Produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah under Sunshine Pictures and co-produced by Aashin A. Shah, Samuk is currently filming in London. The ambitious theatrical project is being mounted on a massive scale and marks a major reunion for Akshay Kumar and Vipul Amrutlal Shah after 13 years.
Known for seamlessly navigating both Indian and global projects, Sandhu brings a strong international appeal to the cast. Following her striking debut in October, she delivered standout performances in Sardar Udham, Main Vaapas Aaunga, and the global blockbuster series Bridgerton. While the makers are keeping specific plot details strictly under wraps to protect the film's mysterious universe, insiders suggest her character is crucial to the narrative.
The film boasts a highly unconventional and eclectic cast. Alongside Akshay Kumar and Banita Sandhu, the roster features Rukmini Maitr, Vineet Kumar Singh, Rajat Kapoor, and Swanand Kirkire. By bringing together acclaimed performers from vastly different cinematic backgrounds, the team behind Samuk is keeping audiences guessing about exactly how they will fit into this thrilling new sci-fi world.
