Anirudh Ravichander and Kavya Maran are reportedly getting married, and for the first time there's an official trail to point to.

Here's the honest version of what's known on Saturday 17 October.

What's on record

On 16 October, the Telangana Chief Minister's Office posted on X that Sun Group chairman Kalanithi Maran and his wife Kavery Maran had met Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at his residence in Hyderabad. Reports linked to that visit say the Marans were there to invite him to a reception, on 21 November in Chennai.

That's the closest thing to confirmation so far. It doesn't come from the couple.

What's still just reports

• The wedding itself. Some outlets say Greece, on 11 November. Neither family has confirmed a date or a place.

• Invitations. There are reports of invites being hand-delivered to prominent guests. We haven't seen them verified.
  

The back story

The rumours aren't new. In 2025, after a Reddit post claimed the two were together, Anirudh replied publicly, laughing it off and asking people to stop spreading rumours. In June this year, his uncle, the actor Y. Gee. Mahendra, said the marriage was certain, without giving a date.

Why people care

Kavya Maran is the face of Sunrisers Hyderabad, the IPL franchise she runs as CEO, and the daughter of the man who runs Sun Group, which owns Sun Pictures. Anirudh is the composer of the moment: Jailer 2, out this week with his music, and Shah Rukh Khan's King coming up.

It's also a story about two of the most connected names in South Indian entertainment. Sun Pictures produced the Jailer films, and the Jailer 2 OTT deal we wrote about in August was one of the biggest in Tamil cinema.
