WIFF Mumbai 2025: Schedule, Highlights and Panels (3–6 October)

The Waterfront Indie Film Festival (WIFF) Mumbai 2025 began on 2nd October with a strong opening, and continues till 6th October across multiple venues in Versova and Andheri. The festival brings together independent films, documentaries, short packages, workshops, masterclasses and adda-style discussions with some of India’s most dynamic creative voices.

Venues include Rangshila Theatre (Screens 1, 2, 3), Silk Road, Versova Social, and Maverick Studios. Tickets are available on BookMyShow and at venue counters, with entry strictly on a first-come, first-seated basis.

Day 1 Recap – Thursday, 2 October 2025

The festival opened with curated packages of shorts: Micro Shorts and In Transit by Kabeer Khurana. The evening featured a packed workshop on Cinematography – The Craft of Frame, Light & Movement with Shanti Bhushan Roy, setting the tone for the days ahead.

Day 2 – Friday, 3 October 2025 (Today)

Morning (10 AM – 1 PM)

  • Contemporary North East Cinema (5 films + Q&A) – Rangshila Screen 1

  • Workshop: Producing the Future – Co-Productions & Co-Ventures – Versova Social

  • Red Hot Nation (65 min + Q&A) – Silk Road

Afternoon (1 PM – 4 PM)

  • Young Voices, New Visions curated by TIFA (10 films + Q&A) – Rangshila Screen 1

  • Adda 1: Conversations with Jaaved Jaaferi, Prahlad Kakkar, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, Rajesh Mapuskar – Versova Social

Evening (4 PM – 7 PM)

  • Directors Panel – Round of Applause with Hansal Mehta, Sudhir Mishra, Rohan Sippy, Tushar Hiranandani, moderated by Shravan Shah – Versova Social

  • India Gold: Shyamchi Aai (Marathi) + Q&A – Rangshila Screen 2

Night (7 PM – 10 PM)

  • Feminist Fathima (Opening Film for public audiences, 100 min + Q&A) – Rangshila Screen 1

  • Monarch of the Blue Mountain (58 min + Q&A) – Silk Road

Day 3 – Saturday, 4 October 2025

Highlights include screenings of Hearth and Home (Alaav), I Am Revathi, and Community Cinema. A masterclass with Anupama Mandloi on impact-driven storytelling will take place at Versova Social. Adda 2 focuses on Emerging Voices in Indian Cinema, with Ida Ali, Giaa Singh Arora, Vidar Joshi, Saad Nawab and Simar Singh. The evening features a Writers Panel and the Queer Cinema package curated by Sridhar Rangayan. Night screenings include Marching in the Dark, Fiction Shorts Package 2, and Ghaath.

Day 4 – Sunday, 5 October 2025

The day begins with a masterclass on Conscious Storytelling by Sandra De Castro Buffington. Afternoon discussions include Brands & Independent Cinema – Unlocking Synergies. The evening Actors Panel features Pratik Gandhi, Priya Bapat, Amit Sial, Surveen Chawla, and Shweta Basu Prasad. Night highlights include Nukkad Naatak, P for Paparazzi, and Kuch Sapney Apne.

Day 5 – Monday, 6 October 2025 (Closing Day)

The final day opens with screenings of Body, Sangeeta Manisha, and Warm Film. Afternoon includes Victoria, Flowers in a Hailstorm, and ASOH: Soul of the Hills. The festival closes with Humans in the Loop at 4 PM, followed by the Awards Ceremony at Versova Social in the evening.
