When Bandra’s Elite Gathered for Dr Sonia and Dr Anish

Dr. Cheryl, the esteemed President of Bandra Gymkhana, is one of the most well-known personalities in Bandra and a leading figure among the Bandra elite. In fact, she stands at the very helm of Bandra’s ruling class. Her daughter, Dr. Sonia, recently married the wonderful Dr. Anish in what promises to be the beginning of a grand series of celebrations leading up to their wedding festivities in January 2026.

The first milestone in this joyous journey was marked by the official registration of their marriage, followed by an intimate meal at the Taj Lands End, attended by close family and friends. I had the privilege of serving as the Master of Ceremonies for this beautiful occasion.

The evening was nothing short of spectacular, blending traditions and celebrating both Anish’s and Sonia’s cultures. The exchanging of garlands was a touching highlight, symbolizing love and unity. Adding to the richness of the evening, East Indian heritage came alive as the dance floor lit up with the vibrant spirit of the East Indian Masala.
