It has taken a while, but The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest is finally in theatres. Sidharth plays Rishi, a rational city man who returns to his ancestral village and walks straight into a forest the locals warn everyone to avoid. What he finds there is not a legend but something very real: supernatural forces tied to an ancient goddess, and a connection to the forest that turns out to be bound up with his own identity and family history. Tamannaah plays Mamta.

The film is set in the forests of Central India and takes inspiration from the Van Devi temple near Patna. Its trailer leans into a conflict between development and faith, with the forest itself positioned as something worth protecting.

An Unusual Team Behind It

The Vvaan is directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, best known for the web series Panchayat, which makes this a big genre swing for him. It is produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor alongside TVF founder Arunabh Kumar and Niraj Kothari, a pairing of the Balaji and TVF worlds that has not happened often.

The supporting cast includes Anup Soni, Sunil Grover, Shweta Tiwari and Maniesh Paul.
