Inside The Secret Circle: The Movement Redefining Mumbai’s Drag & Queer Nightlife Scene
There is a cultural shift happening on the streets of Mumbai after dark, and it is safe to say that the nightlife scene is getting a major, much-needed injection of unapologetic expression, high-fashion editorial glamour, and raw queer joy. At the absolute forefront of this revolution is The Secret Circle, Mumbai’s rapidly growing drag and queer entertainment community that is turning standard club nights into unforgettable, inclusive cultural movements.
Founded by the dynamic duo Dayesh Ghag and Terrence Lobo, The Secret Circle was born out of a clear, powerful vision: to create a premium, safe, and expressive platform where local drag artists, queer performers, and creative trailblazers can be celebrated, supported, and spotlighted by mainstream audiences.
From a Spark to a Phenomenon: The Journey So Far
For a platform that is only four to five months old, The Secret Circle has built an astonishing amount of cultural momentum.
The Debut: The journey kicked off on 7th February, bursting onto the scene with a curated lineup of high-energy drag performances, music, and community engagement. A staggering 174+ attendees packed the venue for the very first show, proving that the city was starved for high-production, visible queer entertainment spaces.
The Expansion: Capitalizing on that massive wave of confidence, they took things a step further for their next major event at Khar Social. The turnout didn't just grow; it nearly doubled. With 311+ attendees creating an electric atmosphere, the night established the platform as a force to be reckoned with.
What makes this movement so unique is its bridge between underground performance art and the broader nightlife culture. It has quickly become a dedicated safe haven where Gen Z audiences, young working professionals, LGBTQ+ community members, and allies all share the same dance floor under a unified ethos of freedom and diversity.
Elevating the Art: Why This Matters
For founders Dayesh and Terrence, this is about more than just throwing an exceptional party—it's about structural change for the local creative community. As members of the LGBTQ+ community themselves, they know firsthand how vital it is to build an ecosystem that honors creators.
As they scale, their goals are clear:
Ensuring local drag artists and performers are supported fairly for their incredible craft.
Constantly elevating production quality to match global drag standards.
Expanding their footprint into even larger, premium venues and clubs across Mumbai.

The Secret Circle is steadily cementing its status as one of Mumbai's most exciting, authentic, and culturally relevant entertainment platforms.
