Spotify I-Pop Icons Live 2026: you can't buy a ticket

Anuv Jain, Harrdy Sandhu, Rashmeet Kaur, Paresh Pahuja and Taaruk Raina play Spotify I-Pop Icons Live at Mehboob Studio in Mumbai on 21 August 2026. There is no ticket link, and there will not be one, because entry runs entirely through Spotify Premium Rewards and registration closes on 18 August.
How to actually get in, and the deadline that matters
Spotify I-Pop Icons Live is open to Spotify Premium users only. Entry is by registration on Spotify Premium Rewards, with the link in Spotify India's Instagram bio. Seats are limited, registration closes on 18 August 2026 or while supplies last, and entry on the night is first-come, first-served.
Read that last part carefully, because it is the part people skim. Spotify states plainly that registration does not guarantee entry. You can be a Premium subscriber, register in time, travel to Bandra on 21 August and still not get in. If you are planning around this, register the moment the link is live rather than on the 17th, and arrive early rather than fashionably.
The show is at Mehboob Studio in Bandra. Brand partners on the announcement include Cetaphil, AJIO, bigbasket and Tira.
The lineup, and why these five
Anuv Jain is the anchor. Dhruvank Vaidya, Head of Music and Podcast at Spotify India, noted that Jain's Jo Tum Mere Ho has spent over 100 consecutive weeks on the Weekly Top Songs India chart, which is a genuinely absurd run for a solo artist working with acoustic guitar and almost no percussion.
Harrdy Sandhu brings the Punjabi pop weight, with Bijlee Bijlee now past 250 million Spotify streams. Taaruk Raina was on Rolling Stone India's Future of Music 2025 slate, released Tanhaiyaan earlier this year, and has taken Kho Gaye Hum Kahan past 200 million streams. Rashmeet Kaur and Paresh Pahuja round out a bill that deliberately does not look like a Bollywood concert lineup.
Paresh Pahuja is the interesting inclusion. He is better known to most audiences as an actor, and putting him on a five-name music bill alongside artists with hundreds of millions of streams is a statement about who counts as a pop artist now rather than a booking convenience.

I-Pop is a category defined by what it refuses to be
Here is the thing worth understanding before you write this off as a brand activation. Spotify has built I-Pop as an editorial category around artists whose careers are constructed through original releases, streaming audiences and live performance, rather than around language or genre. The stated purpose is to spotlight Indian pop music outside the film industry.
In almost any other market that would be an unremarkable definition. In India it is a fighting position. For most of the last seventy years, Indian pop music and Hindi film music were the same object. A hit song was a song from a film, an artist's career was a playback career, and the music label's business was the soundtrack business. A category that defines itself by not being that is arguing that the centre of gravity has moved.
The numbers Spotify is citing suggest it has. The Home of I-Pop hub, spanning playlists including I-Pop Icons, I-Pop Party, I-Pop Mohabbat and I-Pop Rising, is approaching two million followers. Anuv Jain has not needed a single film soundtrack to hold a chart for two years. Sanju Rathod, who played the first edition, has done it in Marathi.
Read the entry mechanic as strategy, not fine print
Now the part nobody covering this will write. This is not a concert with a Premium perk attached. It is a Premium retention lever with a concert attached, and the direction of that sentence is the whole story.
India is one of Spotify's largest markets by users and one of its thinnest by revenue per user, in a category where free tiers are good enough for most listeners and switching costs are close to zero. A free show you cannot buy your way into does something a discount cannot. It makes the subscription the only door, and it makes cancelling feel like giving something up rather than saving money.
That is not a criticism. It is a well-built mechanic, and the artists on the bill get a real audience out of it. But if you are an artist, a label or a promoter watching this, the lesson is not that Spotify threw a party. It is that a platform with editorial control over discovery is now also controlling access to the room, and the two together are considerably more powerful than either alone.
Whether it is worth your 18 August
If you are already on Premium, register. It costs nothing but a form, the lineup is stronger than the first edition on pure streaming weight, and Mehboob Studio is a small enough room that Anuv Jain in it is a genuinely different experience from Anuv Jain in an arena.
If you are not on Premium, the honest maths is that a subscription bought purely for a chance at a seat you might not get is a bad trade. Register only if you were going to subscribe anyway. The second edition will not be the last one.
