With Spider-Man: Brand New Day just days from release, Sony Pictures Entertainment India has unveiled the emotional flip side of its soundtrack. After putting out a peppy Spider-Man anthem earlier, the studio has now teamed up with indie duo Banjaare and Sony Music India for Barsaat — a heartbreak track built entirely around Peter Parker's headspace after learning MJ has moved on without remembering him.

A Song Born From Real Heartbreak, Meeting Peter Parker's Own
As the trailers have already made clear, Brand New Day isn't just about Spider-Man's next big adventure — it's equally about Peter coming to terms with the fallout of No Way Home, where Doctor Strange's spell erased him from MJ's memory entirely. Banjaare members Sumit and Anuj, both self-described lifelong Spider-Man fans, said the song wasn't written for the film at all — it found the film.
“Barsaat is incredibly close to our hearts. We wrote it during a phase when we were navigating our own heartbreak and personal struggles. Every song we create carries a story, and love has always been at the core of our music. Barsaat came to life naturally as we were simply jamming together one monsoon evening, which is how it found its name. When we watched the trailer of Spider-Man: Brand New Day and saw Peter Parker trying to come to terms with the love of his life no longer remembering him, we instantly found echoes of Barsaat in his journey. We are very happy to see that Haryanvi music is not just local and that with this collaboration, it is making global waves,” the duo shared.
Growing Up on Spider-Man's Music
The duo also opened up about how deeply the franchise's music has shaped them as artists, long before this collaboration came together.
“Right from Spider-Man: Homecoming, the music of the film has stood out for us. We remember breaking down the background score after watching the film back in 2017. While Tom Holland's Spider-Man is our favourite superhero, Michael Giacchino is our favourite musical superhero in the franchise,” they added.
