Mumbai Just Got a Car Service That Refuses to Waste Your Time. It Lives Inside a Petrol Pump.

Maruti Suzuki Quickstop has opened at an Indian Oil station in Goregaon. We went looking for the catch. We found a city that finally gets it.

Here is the most Mumbai thing about Mumbai: nobody has time, and everybody is moving anyway. You will sit in a Western Express Highway jam long enough to rethink your life choices, but ask anyone to block a Sunday for a car service and watch the excuses arrive faster than the auto refusing to go to Goregaon. The car needs oil. The car needs a brake check. The car has been making "that sound" since Diwali. And still, the workshop visit gets pushed, and pushed, and pushed, because who has half a day to give up.

So when Maruti Suzuki and Shivam Autozone, in association with Indian Oil Corporation Limited, quietly opened something called a Quickstop at a Goregaon fuel station on May 15, we did what we do. We got suspicious. Then we got interested.

The idea is almost annoyingly simple

You pull in to refuel. While the tank fills, your car gets serviced. You leave with a full tank and a sorted car, and the half-day you were dreading never happens. That is the entire pitch. It is the first Maruti Suzuki Quickstop facility built inside an Indian Oil pump, and it is the kind of obvious-in-hindsight idea that makes you wonder why it took until 2026. The launch itself was not a small affair. Mr. Suresh Babu and Mr. Takahiro Shiraishi, both Executive Vice Presidents (Service) at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, were there to cut it open. The official line, from Shivam Autozone Founder and Managing Director Mr. Samir Jani, is that they want to redefine customer convenience through innovation, letting people service their cars without breaking their day. PR sentence, sure. But strip the corporate polish off it and the meaning survives, which is rare. They genuinely built a thing that gives you your time back.

Why this actually matters (and we don't say that lightly)

We cover a city that treats time as the only real currency. Not money. Time. The thing you cannot make more of while stuck on the SV Road signal. Quickstop is betting on exactly that. Instead of asking you to come to the service, it puts the service where you already are, at a high-traffic fuel station, on the route you already drive. It is automotive maintenance that fits into the gap you already had, not a new chore demanding its own slot. If it works, it is a small blueprint for how two giant sectors, fuel retail and car service, can stop operating in separate worlds and start respecting the commuter caught between them.

What you can actually get done in 60 minutes

The headline promise is a 60-minute Express Service. Here is what fits inside it.

Periodic maintenance

• Engine oil change and top-up

• Oil filter replacement

• Coolant top-up or change

• Brake oil replacement

• AC filter replacement

• Air filter replacement

• Spark plug and CNG filter replacement, as per the MSIL schedule

Vehicle care

• Brake servicing

• AC servicing

• Battery check-up and charging

• Wheel balancing

• Tyre rotation and pressure check

• Dry wash and cleaning

• Multi-point vehicle inspection

Quick inspections, basic maintenance, fast assistance, and proper care while you are mid-commute. Not a replacement for your big annual service, but exactly the right tool for the "I keep meaning to deal with this" list every Mumbai car owner is quietly carrying.

Who is behind it

If the name Shivam Autozone sounds familiar, it should. Since 2011 they have grown into one of Mumbai, Thane and Palghar's most established authorised Maruti Suzuki dealerships, running 30 plus outlets across all four channels: Arena, NEXA, Commercial and True Value.

They are consistently ranked among the Top 3 dealerships in Mumbai, and the trophy shelf backs it up: Royal Platinum Band Dealer 2026, Best Hybrid Performing Dealer 2026, and the highest selling e VITARA dealer in the city. Roughly 100,000 families have passed through their service over the last decade. So this is not a startup experiment. It is an established operator making a smart bet on the one thing Mumbai never has enough of.

The bottom line

We came in ready to call this another convenience buzzword. We are leaving thinking it is the rare launch that actually solves the problem it claims to. The Goregaon Quickstop is open now, parked at an Indian Oil pump, waiting for the next person who has been putting off that service for three weeks. If that person is you, the next refuel can do double duty.
