Sam Fender and Olivia Dean Break Wet Wet Wet's 32-Year Chart Record

Sam Fender and Olivia Dean's duet Rein Me In has now spent 16 weeks at Number 1 on the UK singles chart, passing Wet Wet Wet's 32-year-old record for the longest continuous run atop the chart.

A Record That Stood Since 1994

Wet Wet Wet's Love Is All Around held the UK's longest Number 1 run for over three decades, long enough that most people currently streaming Fender and Dean's duet were not alive when the original record was set. Beating it in the streaming era, where chart longevity usually gets diluted by rapid turnover, makes the achievement more notable rather than less.

What's Driving the Run

The single's sustained pull is coming from a mix of consistent radio play and streaming numbers that have not tapered off the way most chart-toppers do after a few weeks. It arrives alongside real momentum for Fender's People Watching album, reinforcing that this is not a one-song moment for him.
