In an age where authenticity and impact matter more than ever, Riya Mavi has quietly but powerfully emerged as a name to watch. Actress, model, content creator, and entrepreneur—Riya is a compelling story of ambition shaped by resilience, creativity, and bold self-expression.
Early Life & Roots
Born on November 15, 1997, in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, Riya Mavi comes from a traditional Gujjar family with deep ties to the Border Security Force through her father. Raised across Kashmir, Hisar, and Delhi due to her father’s postings, Riya experienced early exposure to India’s diverse cultures and communities. She completed her schooling at Mother Teresa Public School in Hisar and later at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Delhi.
Her academic pursuits led her to study Journalism and Mass Communication at the NRAI School, followed by further education at Delhi University. But it was outside the classroom that Riya found her true calling.
The Leap Into Creativity
Although her family initially hoped she’d pursue medicine, Riya’s interest in modeling and performing led her down a very different path. She first gained prominence through her collaborations with Amit Bhadana, one of India's most successful YouTubers. Her appearances in his sketches helped her gain a strong footing in the digital content world, amassing widespread recognition and fan support.
In 2019, she parted ways with Amit’s team to chart her own creative journey—an important turning point that allowed her to explore her individual voice and storytelling style.
Acting, Content & Digital Impact
Riya Mavi’s acting portfolio is refreshingly diverse. She made her music video debut with “Mulakat” (2018), and later appeared in short films like Neele Gagan Ke Tale and Sarkari Vidyalaya. But her real strength lies in the world of socially-driven digital content.
Through her growing collaborations with Team Black Films, she has starred in short narratives that tackle everything from family dynamics to generational gaps. Titles like Chain Ki Chori, Maa Se Badhkar Kuch Nhi, and Maa vs Wife not only showcase her range but also connect with grassroots Indian audiences through raw, relatable themes.
Outside fiction, she’s equally known for her motivational and awareness-driven videos, shared across YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram—platforms where she’s built a fiercely loyal following.
Awards, Recognition & Entrepreneurship
Riya’s influence hasn’t gone unnoticed. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she was awarded the Bharat Gaurav Award (also referred to as the Hindustan Gaurav Award) for her meaningful digital contributions. The recognition underscored her role not just as a performer, but as a voice that uplifts and inspires.
In 2022, she ventured into entrepreneurship by launching Sugar Hugs Studio, a beauty and wellness salon in Greater Noida. Blending creativity with business acumen, Riya now plans to expand the salon brand and become a known name in India’s beauty industry.'
The Bigger Picture
Riya Mavi isn’t just an influencer or actress. She’s a self-made woman navigating India’s rapidly shifting media and cultural landscape with grace and authenticity. Her work in short films, digital awareness content, and small business ownership positions her as a new-generation creator—one who doesn't chase fame, but rather earns trust.
What’s Next?
With ambitions to expand Sugar Hugs Studio, launch new content formats, and deepen her impact through collaborations in fashion, health, and social work, Riya Mavi is steadily carving out a space that blends passion with purpose.
Her story is far from over—but it's already a blueprint for how to make noise in the digital age, while staying true to who you are.
