Bhuvan Bam's Sarkar perfume: 25% oil is the real claim

Bhuvan Bam has launched Sarkar, a unisex perfume brand with four fragrances priced between roughly 1,000 and 2,000 rupees. The spec worth checking is 25% perfume oil concentration, because at that price it is an unusually aggressive claim.

What launched

Four unisex fragrances: Orion, Noble, Throne and Regal. Orion, Noble and Throne are formulated in France, Regal in Spain. All four are stated at 25% oil concentration and IFRA compliant. The brand's own store lists pricing starting at 1,199 rupees, with the range running to about 2,000. Available on sarkar.store, Amazon and Flipkart.

Bam co-founded Sarkar with Neel Gogia, Rohit Raj and Jag Chima, after nearly three years of development. In his launch post he said his home turned into a warehouse with more than 200 testers and sample bottles, with feedback collected from over 150 people.

Why 25% is the number to interrogate

Fragrance strength is set by oil concentration. Eau de toilette typically sits around 5 to 15%. Eau de parfum runs roughly 15 to 20%. Anything at 25% is in extrait or parfum territory, which is normally where price climbs steeply, because the oil is the expensive part.

So Sarkar's entire proposition is a spec arbitrage: parfum-strength concentration at eau-de-toilette money. The founders have said explicitly that they were targeting the gap between mass-market body sprays and niche luxury pricing. If the 25% figure holds under wear, that is a genuinely competitive product rather than a celebrity markup. If it does not, the claim is the whole brand and there is nothing underneath it. Nobody has independently tested it yet.

This is an operating company, not an endorsement

The part the coverage is skipping. Neel Gogia is a co-founder of IPLIX Media and of Layers. Rohit Raj is a co-founder of BBKV Productions, which is Bam's own production house. So the cap table is Bam's production company plus the operator group that has already built consumer brands in this market.

That distinction matters. Most creator products in India are licensing deals where a face is rented and a third party handles everything. Sarkar is the same operators building a second brand with the creator inside the business. Three years of development before launch is consistent with that. Whether it works is a separate question, but it is not a cash-out.
