Anurag Kashyap to Launch YouTube Platform "Oh Flip Shorts" for Indie Short Films, Starting with "Incognito" on July 15

Filmmakers Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane have teamed up once again, this time to champion independent short filmmaking rather than a feature. The duo is presenting writer-director Ravi Muppa's psychological thriller "Incognito," which will mark the debut release on a new shorts-only YouTube channel called Oh Flip Shorts, launching July 15.
The channel is the brainchild of producer Ranjan Singh, with Kashyap coming on board as curator. The plan is to release one new short film every month, slowly building an audience for independent short-form storytelling.
Incognito itself arrives with a strong festival pedigree. The short has already screened at more than 20 international festivals, including the Oscar-qualifying Palm Springs International ShortFest. Starring Vikram Singh, Ayushi Nema and Dev Chauhan, the story follows a cash-strapped motel receptionist who earns extra income selling hidden-camera footage of guests, until he films a woman who appears to be a trafficking victim and is forced to choose between self-preservation and stepping in.
Speaking about the initiative, Kashyap said he has always loved short films as they are the first stepping stone for a director to test their storytelling style, and called the channel an effort to showcase excellent short work curated by filmmakers he admires. Motwane, who is presenting the film alongside Kashyap, described Incognito as gripping and atmospheric, praising Muppa's team for pulling off an unconventional ending.
For director Ravi Muppa, whose earlier development credits include Stree, Bala and The Family Man, Incognito marks a directorial debut with bigger ambitions already taking shape. A feature-length adaptation is currently in active development, with Hollywood's Invention Studios joining Flip Films and Campfire Studios as co-producers, alongside Kashyap, Nicholas Weinstock, Divya D'Souza and Ranjan Singh attached to produce.
The launch of Oh Flip Shorts adds to a growing pattern of established Bollywood names using YouTube and other digital platforms to build dedicated spaces for short-form and independent work that might otherwise struggle to find theatrical distribution. With Kashyap's curatorial stamp and a monthly release cadence, the channel positions itself as a long-term community-building effort rather than a one-off promotional push, giving emerging short filmmakers a consistent, high-visibility outlet for their work.
