Director Anubhav Sinha recently took to social media to celebrate the 24th anniversary of his debut film, Tum Bin—a film that has quietly but powerfully carved out a place in the hearts of audiences since its release in 2001.
Sharing his emotional reflections, Sinha revealed that he made Tum Bin with no concept of “hit or flop”—only a heartfelt story, a supportive producer, and a small, dedicated team. What began as a modest project with fresh faces like Priyanshu Chatterjee, Sandali Sinha, and Himanshu Malik, eventually became a cult romantic drama that still resonates with fans today.
The film’s lasting charm is also thanks to its iconic music, including evergreen songs like “Koi Fariyaad” by Jagjit Singh and “Chhoti Chhoti Raatein”. These tracks remain favorites on romantic playlists even decades later.
In his post, Sinha emphasized that true success isn’t measured by box office numbers, but by how long a film is remembered. Tum Bin’s journey is a perfect example—overshadowed during release by big titles like Lagaan and Gadar, it still found its voice, its audience, and its legacy.
Even in 2024, the film received a special theatrical re-release, proving that its emotional core and soulful storytelling continue to capture hearts across generations.
