Agent Kim Reactivated Hits 22.3%, So Ji-sub's Highest-Rated Drama on SBS

Agent Kim Reactivated just posted a 22.3% viewership rating for its latest episode, officially making it the second highest-rated Friday-Saturday drama in SBS history, behind only The Fiery Priest and ahead of Taxi Driver 2. So Ji-sub stars as the title character in a straight action-spy drama with no romantic-comedy softening. Agent Kim Reactivated's spy-action formula, a disgraced operative pulled back into the field, sits close enough structurally to the YRF Spy Universe playbook that Indian viewers raised on Tiger and Pathaan will recognize the genre beats instantly. That overlap is part of why the show has quietly built one of the more engaged Indian K-drama fan threads of the year, even without a marquee K-pop idol anywhere in the cast.

Why the Rating Number Matters

Crossing 20% is genuinely rare for Korean television now that streaming has fragmented live viewership the way it has everywhere else. SBS has not had a Friday-Saturday drama post numbers this high since Taxi Driver 2, which makes this less a routine ratings bump and more a real outlier for the network.

What's Behind the Momentum

So Ji-sub's return to straight action, after a run of softer roles, is the factor most Korean entertainment analysts are pointing to. The show has built week-over-week word of mouth rather than opening huge and fading, the harder and more valuable kind of ratings trajectory for a network to land.
